Marabu Charcoal is traditionally produced from the branches and trunks of the wild and invasive mimosa-like Marabu bush.
Marabu (Dichrostachys cinerea), imported from Africa to the Caribbean in the 19th century, is a plant that grows into large bushes up to 10 m tall. During the crisis in Cuba in the 1990s, many agricultural areas were left fallow, and "marabú" spread over vast distances. You can find Dichrostachys cinerea in the Global Invasive Species Database of the ISSG (Invasive Species Specialist Group), where all plants that need to be removed are listed.
For the reasons below, it is very suitable for JOSPER charcoal oven, barbecues and open grills, parillas, etc.
Marabu charcoal (100% natural):
Josper selects its species and regularly checks the quality of its charcoal, packaged individually or on pallets of 30 or 52 bags and packed in cardboard or 10kg bags.
