In 1998, Finnish designer Jukka Setälä designed a unique pouf. FatBoy also called "bean bag" because of his look. This name appeared on a CD cover that Setälä received in the late 90s. This gave him the inspiration for a brand name: FatBoy the Original. Dutchman Alex Bergman saw a lot of potential in the design of the Finnish pouf and acquired the exclusive sales rights in 2003.
